The winners have been announced for the SocialVibe contest over at the Music For Relief website. Congratulations to all the winners!

A total of 25,319 people have joined socialvibe to support Music for Relief and invited friends and family to participate - they have reached their goial $25K for food, clean drinking water, and reforestation to help the people in Haiti recover from storms of 2008 and the ongoing food crisis.

Linkin Park are working on the score for Michael Bay’s new Transformers film, due out June 24th!

They are doing a song to be used as a theme for “Revenge of the Fallen” and will be working on the song over the next few weeks with award-winning film composer Hans Zimmer.

Don’t ask me how we got to this point, but we filled the studio with balloons.

Artificial Life, Inc., today announced a three-year agreement with multi-platinum two-time Grammy-winning rock band Linkin Park and Warner Bros. Records to produce a series of official applications for the iPhone and iPod touch platform. The company plans to release two interactive applications per year, featuring the band’s likeness and music in unconventional styles; the first launch is tentatively scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2009 pending approval.

One of the most successful rock bands to emerge this decade, Linkin Park has amassed more than 45 million worldwide sales, a remarkable string of chart-topping hit singles, a pair of Grammy wins, and an international fanbase whose members number in the millions. The band (vocalists Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda, drummer Rob Bourdon, guitarist Brad Delson, DJ Joe Hahn and bassist Dave “Phoenix” Farrell) is currently working on the follow-up to blockbuster hit MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT (Machine Shop Recordings/Warner Bros. Records), which sold more than 6 million copies internationally.

I was invited to speak at Art Center’s commencement today. It was the first time I’ve spoken at a college graduation. The college also gave me an honorary degree: Doctorate of Humane Letters. For those of you who are interested, I’ll try to get a video of the speech up here soon.

Chester told me he’s going to start calling me “Dr. Shinoda,” HA!
